Embroidery, applique, piecing and water-colour pencil painting are the techniques used to create this beautiful quilt, featuring as the centrepiece a graceful “Old Queenslander” homestead, surrounded by iconic images of times gone by.
This beautiful quilt, with frangipanis dripping over the homestead, and nasturtiums, hydrangeas and maidenhair fern at the bottom of the steps, has four lovely heart-shaped Dresden plates in the corners, just oozing Vintage charm. The quilt features iconic images such as dressmaking, going to town, vintage toys, Carlton-ware (the “good china”), the powder room, wash day, ironing day and baking day ~ sentimental memories relived from our childhood, or the childhood of our Mum or Gran. The perfect way to honour these times gone by, and in so doing, create a bright, happy and treasured heirloom that tells a beautiful story.
